The Shenadoah Presbytery Resource Center is a lending library providing access to a large spectrum of Christian resources for congregational education and programming. Resources are available in all areas of the Church's ministry.

The Resource Center carries over 10,000 print resources and over 1400 video tapes. The Resource Center also offers audio-visual equipment for rent.

Mission Statement

Shenadoah Presbytery Resource Center

To enable the Presbytery, churches within the Presbytery, and individuals within the churches of the Presbytery to better carry out their ministry and mission in the church and the community. This purpose is accomplished by:

1) Providing access to a large spectrum of Christian resources for local church programming.

2) Making available equipment for use by the churches on a loan basis at minimal cost.

3) Providing Christian education consultation services to help churches with existing programs or develop new ones.

4) Informing the churches in the Presbytery about new resources available.

5) To become a link between the churches in networking the resources available from various sources in the Presbytery (videos, speakers, books, etc.)

Who Can Use the Resource Center?

Presbyterian Borrowers:

Members of Presbyterian Church (USA) congregations may use this Center with no membership fee. There are rental fees for some audio-visual equipment and overdue fines. See the "How To Use the Center" section for specific information. The resources we have could be of interest to :

- $10.00 annual individual membership fee providing unlimited use of the Center for one calendar year.

- Equipment rental price is double that of Presbyterian Church (USA) borrowers (individual or institutional)

- $75.00 annual church or institutional membership providing unlimited use of the Center for that institution's members for one year.

How To Use the Center:

• Register on our computer "User File" by phone, in person, or by e-mail.
• Come in and browse.
• Make advance reservations for resources or equipment to assure availability for desired dates.
• Resources can be picked up at the Center during regular business hours.
• Call the Center to make arrangements for after hours pick-up or return
• Resources can be mailed out on request AT THE USER'S EXPENSE.
• Audio-visual equipment must be picked-up at the Center - it cannot be shipped.
• (Minimal rental fees for some equipment, call or e-mail for details.

Borrowing Print Resources:

• Loaned at no cost for 2 weeks
• Option of 2 week renewal if there are no conflicting reservations
• Can renew by phone or e-mail
• Call the Center in advance to make arrangements to return or pick-up resources after hours
• Overdue fines $.10 per day per resource
• Annual membership of $10.00 per individual or $75.00 per institution for non-Presbyterian Church (USA) borrowers - see "Who Can Use the Resource Center
  

Borrowing Videos:

• Loaned at no cost for 1 week
• Option for a 1 week renewal if there are no conflicting reservations
• Tapes with multiple sessions can be borrowed for as many weeks as it takes to complete the sessions on the tape
• Call the Center in advance to make arrangements for resources pick-up or return after regular hours
• $1.00 per day per tape overdue fine
• If returned by mail videos must be sent UPS or Insured Mail
• Annual membership fees of $10.00 per individual and $75.00 per institution apply for non Presbyterian Church (USA) borrowers - see "Who Can Use the Resource Center" section
